EMC-LabNet – Polish Network of EMC Laboratories

The Polish Network of EMC Laboratories, called “EMC-LabNet”, is a joint venture of higher education institutions and an R&D unit from various regions of Poland (Lower Silesia, Mazovia, Pomerania, Subcarpathia, Podlaskie), which have a leading position in the country of various specializations in the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) science field, which have research infrastructure, scientific potential and experience, enabling electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing of advanced equipment and systems. The main goal of the EMC-LabNet Consortium is to supplement and expand the research infrastructure of the consortium members as well as to create a strategic and unique, on a national and European scale, network of specialized EMC laboratories, constituting complementary and key facilities for advanced scientific research, development works and certification tests conducted to improve the functioning and competitiveness of the Polish economy and the protection of environment, people and technical devices against electromagnetic radiation. The aim of the development of the research base, consolidation as well as specialization of EMC environments and laboratories is:

  • creation of a unique on a national scale network of laboratories,
  • proper targeting of financial resources for the development of a unique research infrastructure, to make testing of specialized and innovative electronic devices at the stage of prototype development or finished products certification possible,
  • as well as the production of electromagnetic disturbances (including simulations of atmospheric discharges) and assessing the effectiveness of the developed protections, securing devices and systems against such phenomena.
