Sea mine countermesure systems

Modular lightweight minesweep (MLM) is designed to counter sea mines with non-contact fuses, which operation depends on the identification of a specific type of vessel on the basis of its characteristic physical field signatures. The minesweep consists of a set of elementary magnetic and electric field inductors, connected by cable-ropes between each other and the on-board power supply and control device, as well as an acoustic generator. The process of developing optimal working parameters (“OPTYMA Mod.” software for ships physical fields modelling) and controlling the minesweep operation has been automated in range, which allows its full and easy operation from the level of the on-board control and command interface. The interface software includes all options for entering, determining and controlling mine countermeasure characteristic parameters, including automatic determination of the minesweep zones width at different depths.

Influence Magneto-Acoustic Sweep WTAM (Promienica) is designed for sweeping bottom mines equipped with non-contact acoustic-magnetic fuses. The minesweep consists of 5 elementary magnetic field inductors (EWP) and an acoustic field generator AAG type, which is towed behind the last EWP. The minesweep mission planning system allows minesweeping in accordance to parameters of mine fuses (MSM) or to the protected units (TSM) physical fields. WTAM can be towed by a minehunter or any unit with a reserve of 50 kVA of alternating current of 3 x 400 V and a reserve of towing power with a force of 40 kN at V=8 w.

The System of Remotely and wireless fired charges (TOCZEK) was developed to counter sea mines. Charges A and B type are transported and positioned by remotely operated vehicles ASW or AUV. The charge C type is transported and located by divers. All types of charges are equipped with universal acoustic fuses with a multi-level security system. There is also a device within the system, which allows to test all fuse parameters.

Mines

The sea bottom mine MMD-2 is a non-contact mine reacting to physical fields generated by ships. It is equipped with a fuse with channels: hydroacoustic (duty channel) and hydrodynamic and magnetic (combat channels). The mine is designed to be positioned from the surface vessels and is designated to combat surface units and submarines.

Non-contact incendiary device for sea mines reacts to physical fields generated by surface vessels and submarines. It is equipped with independently programmable channels: hydroacoustic (duty channel), hydrodynamic (combat channel) and depth. It has typical dimensions, which allow to use it in contact mines such as KB and AGSB. The specialized software together with training fuses allow to analyze the ship’s field signatures, plan action scenarios and training the staff of various levels.

Pyrotechnic effectors

The Pyrotechnic effectors are intended to counter the terroristic threats in the waters of approaches to ports, sea bases and at anchorages. In order to counter the underwater terrorist threats, there is a pressure wave of water generated. The effectors are integrated with underwater target detection systems, such as magnetic, hydroacoustic barriers and sonars. Depending on the pressure value of the pressure wave (microcharge mass), it can have a deterrent or incapacitating effect (non lethal), up to the destructive effect (lethal). The pyrotechnic effector has a positive buoyancy and is positioned from a boat or helicopter by throwing it into the water in the planned positions. The use of pyrotechnic effects does not require any external energy supply or hydrotechnical works. Choosing the effector type (size of the charge mass) is determined by the tactical conditions at particular protected area.
