Accessibility Statement

Website publication: Last website update: Last update of this statement:

OBR Maritime Technology Centre S.A. (Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy Centrum Techniki Morskiej S.A.) is committed to ensuring the digital accessibility of its website in accordance with the WCAG version 2.2 at Level AA and with good practices derived from the Polish Act of 4 April 2019 on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies, applied voluntarily by the Company. This accessibility statement applies to the website ctm.gdynia.plthe informational website of OBR CTM S.A. in Polish and English.

The website is partially compliant with Level AA requirements of WCAG 2.2 due to non-conformities or exclusions listed below.

Inaccessible content

Non-conformity with statutory requirements (WCAG 2.2, Level AA)

In the default display mode, without high contrast enabled in the accessibility panel, some interface elements — including certain secondary texts and colour accents — may not meet Level AA contrast requirements (high contrast mode improves readability of many navigation items, content areas, and forms).

Embedded Google Maps on the contact page require consent to functional cookies.

Content not covered by regulations or archival

PDF documents from public authorities made available on the site (e.g. official notices and regulations) may not be fully digitally accessible — we cannot change the content or structure of these files; links to PDF files on the website include extended screen reader descriptions (aria-label: PDF format and, where applicable, that the file opens in a new tab).

Materials published before this statement was introduced may not meet all WCAG 2.2 requirements. If you need access to a specific document, please contact us and indicate exactly which file or subpage you require.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on the basis of a self-assessment of the website’s digital accessibility against WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria, requirements of standard EN 301 549 as applied under the Polish digital accessibility regulations, and automated testing using the WAVE (Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool).

In June 2026, work included: review and update of alternative text (alt) for informative images; correction of heading hierarchy in press releases (a single h1 with the article title); language markings for foreign-language fragments (lang, criterion 3.1.2); consistent dialog names for the cookie banner, language suggestion, and accessibility panel (aria-labelledby, 4.1.2); status announcements after product list filtering (aria-live, 4.1.3); extended aria-label on PDF links; implementation of “Skip to content” (2.4.1); and fixes to the accessibility panel and mobile navigation.

We review and update this statement at least once a year — by 31 March — and without delay whenever significant changes to the website may affect its digital accessibility.

Facilities and remediation plans

Facilities

All pages include a “Skip to content” link (visible when it receives keyboard focus), leading to the main content marked with <main id="main-content" tabindex="-1">.

A “Display settings” panel — a fixed button in the bottom-right corner marked with the icon (accessibility symbol in a circle) — allows users to increase or decrease text size (saved for the session), enable high contrast mode, stop animations, and reset settings; changes in the panel are announced via an aria-live region. When the panel is open, the rest of the page is inactive (inert) and keyboard navigation stays within the dialog.

The website is available in Polish and English; the accessibility statement is published in both languages. The cookie banner, language suggestion, and accessibility panel are dialogs with visible titles linked through aria-labelledby. On the products page, category filters announce the result (number of visible items) in a status region.

English fragments on Polish pages (and vice versa) are marked with lang. Subpages use a heading hierarchy; in press releases the article title is the only level-one heading. Informative images — in news, project pages (partner logos), products, and the shared header and footer — have non-empty, descriptive alt text.

Keyboard focus is clearly visible on links, buttons, and panel options (:focus-visible). The system setting prefers-reduced-motion: reduce and the panel option limit animations; the preloader is skipped after the first view in a session or when reduced motion is preferred.

Remediation plans

We plan to improve contrast in the default display mode (without high contrast enabled).

New content will be checked for image alternative text, language markings of fragments, and accessibility labels of interactive elements. Progress will be reflected in updates to this statement.
